Team Japspeed Rock Japfest

In case you’ve been living in a cave for the past month, you can’t have failed to notice the much publicised build up for the 10th birthday of Japfest, at Castle Combe. It was a special day, celebrating what’s arguably the biggest Japanese-based car show. With over 15,000 people attending, it’s a monster of an event, and Team Japspeed were invited down to pull off some dramatic drift displays on track with a selection of Maxxis British Drift Championship drivers.

The collective drifters were allocated three extended time slots throughout the day to showcase their skills, this resulted in some of the most on-edge driving that the UK has seen; with huge drift trains featuring over 30 cars at a time! The Team Japspeed monochrome monsters smoked up their Maxxis MA-Z1 drift rubber before the huge crowds that gathered on the corners. The twinning between “Baggsy” and “Smokey” around Quarry corner brought people up on their feet as they wanted to get a better view of the door-to-door driving.

Team Japspeed rockedthe show, gaining legions of new fans and respect. Every time the cars came off the track and parked onto the Japspeed show stand, they were mobbed! It created lots of interest in the Team and of course the next round of the BDC. If you were unable to attend, we’ll do similar displays at Japfest 2 at Donington on July 8th. It wouldn’t be possible without your support!
