SPS round up their season so far

Maxxis sponsored downhill and enduro teams from The Steve Peat Syndicate have been out at a variety of races including local grassroots races and world level events.

Guided by their off-season training and each other, SPS Maxxis riders have managed to achieve some impressive results. Tom Makin and Michael Vickers round up the season so far from the Enduro and DH team.

The Steve Peat Syndicate’s Enduro squad has been very active so far in 2017 with a strong attendance at everything from local races, major U.K. Enduro events, the National Championships and at several rounds of the World Enduro Series.

Participation alone is never enough so we’ve bagged several podiums along the way and plenty of top 5 and top 10 spots to boot. Recent filming projects with Maxxis Tyres (to be released for the Ardrock Enduro festival next month) thrusts the team and its sponsors once again into the limelight.

The remainder of the 2017 season will see the lads chase down overall series titles and podium spots at major U.K. races, Including Ardrock Enduro and the PMBA series.

This year’s National Series has been one of great promise for the SPS Team with Podiums at every round of the series so far.

Scott Richardson flew the flag at rounds one and two with 2 solid 4th place finishes in Senior Men. Nils Williams has showed great progress bettering each result from the previous round with a 10th, 5th and 3rdrespectively in the Expert category with Adam Smith and Brad Swinbank knocking on the door for a top 10 finish.

Elite riders Becci and Jay have battled with the World’s best with Jay securing his first Elite Podium with a 5th place finish Bala. Irv Creighton in his first BDS of the year at Bala came away with a respectable 5th place and first ever podium! Finally Team Coach Michael Vickers was able to take his 1st win of the year in the Masters category for the team at Round 3.

Adam Smith and Michael Vickers both also made the trip out to Andorra for the Masters World Champs where they battled against a long list of high profile riders. Despite struggling with the long and physical track they finished 17th and 31st respectively.

It goes without saying that at the midway point through the season, the team has laid the Foundation for some more solid results to come.
