O'Sullivan does it again

Hot on the heels of his well deserved 1st placed success at Round 1 of the Maxxis British Drift Championship, Team Japspeed driver Shane O'Sullivan continued his dominance with a close fought battle at Prodrift in Ireland!

The softly spoken Shane has been dubbed “The Dark Horse” by his Irish competitors, it is easy to see why. The often shy and retiring Shane changes in character the moment he climbs into the cockpit of his S15 drift car, punching in runs with devastating accuracy and clinical consistency. It makes him a formidable opponent to face, as this seemingly effortless  run of form is proving.

The weekend started well for Shane at Punchestown Racecourse with a strong  5th placed qualification; he then made a mark of intent with a 3rd place in the Superlap!  Shane was feeling quietly confident as he went about his businesses, clawing his way through a tough field of opponents until the final battle, only narrowly missing but on the top spot to Damien Mulvey.  Both drivers recently faced each other in the BDC and Shane took the win at Teesside in his run to the final, this time it was awarded to Damien. With the drifting season only just underway, Shane has laid down his marker as a man to watch; chalking up two podium finishes in two events. This isn’t luck, this is talent!

It’s fantastic news for all of Team Japspeed who are elated to be claiming more silverware, all the previous hard work is now starting to prove fruitful. With Round 2 of the Maxxis British Drift Championship at Norfolk less than a week away, everyone is hoping this run of form will continue at the Norfolk Arena, and that Shane will once again climb onto the hallowed podium. The preparations are well underway but anything can happen in drifting! Until then, Shane and the hardworking team are basking in the glory of another weekend’s worth of world-class drifting.
