Maxxis sponsored DRT Kawasaki

Maxxis sponsored DRT Kawasaki made the long journey north to the home of Preston Docks, supporter of the Dixon Racing Team, for the 7th round of the British Championship. The Circuit was well prepared and would set the day up for some great racing.

In the first race Tommy mis-timed the gate drop, causing him to come through the mid pack, while Jake and Shaun would take their own battle at the front, pulling away too much for Searle as he emerged in 3rd. He rode a steady race to pull through the rest of the riders to finish in 3rd place.

For race two, Searle got off the line in 2nd and within half a lap was in the lead. After gaining a 7 second advantage over Simpson, Simpson rode a strong and determined race leaving him no choice but sit behind the Scot for a few laps, not wanting to force anything dangerous and to ensure both riders went onto the final round close in points. A 2nd place finish would leave the championship leader in 2nd overall and 8 points ahead of Simpson going in to the final round.

James put in some strong times in qualifying claiming the 2nd spot. Taking this speed onto the first race James was in 2nd place pushing for the lead but after making a mistake trying to pass ended up falling and only working back to 15th. A steady second race saw a more modest 7th position, with a combined score of 10th overall.

The team now have a busy schedule in preparation for the final stages of the MXGP championship in America (after the final European destination of Assen) and the British Championship, finishing at the Foxhills circuit.
