Maxxis Partners with Road Cycling Team Madison Genesis

Maxxis introduces Madison Genesis to its 2019 sponsorship portfolio.

The team will be supplied with the all-new premium road race tyre, the High Road. Supporting the team through thousands of miles of racing and training, riders will place their trust in Maxxis’ HYPR compound.

From the high-speed corners of the Tour Series, to the gravel of the CiCLE Classic, the High Road will take on the highly varied demands of the team’s calendar.

Maxxis already supply sister team Madison Saracen, with great success at the world’s biggest mountain bike races, proving they know what it takes to create race-winning rubber.

Commenting on the announcement, Maxxis UK managing director Derek McMartin said:

“Madison Genesis is a team we have had our eye on for some time now, with a deep roster of talent that has enjoyed a wealth of success at both domestic and European level. Welcoming them to the Maxxis family, with our rich history of excellence and innovation in the tyre industry, aligns perfectly as we seek to expand our high performance offering across the road cycling market.

We’ve enjoyed some great success this past year with our new High Road tyre, and we’re looking forward to supporting the Madison Genesis team with the superior traction and control provided by Maxxis tyres.”

As bikes are being built for the 2019 season right now, team mechanic Chuck Buckley is excited to start working with Maxxis’ proven range:

“I’m really excited that we’re partnering with Maxxis – they bring a great deal of knowledge from producing the best mountain bike tyres in the world and seeing them translate that technology and product into professional road racing shows great potential.

What’s particularly attractive about the High Road is that it can be used at Tour Series criteriums, road races like the Tour de Yorkshire and still handle the gravel sectors of the Rutland-Melton CiCLE Classic. Such a versatile tyre is indispensable – it has already been proven at the Tour of Britain and we’ll be enjoying it’s benefits for the whole 2019 season.”

After a brief off-season and with the new team announced, riders will now be looking to winter training and testing their new Maxxis rubber in the difficult conditions that can be found up and down the country.
