Maxxis joins TV trio and The Stig at Top Gear Live

Tyre manufacturer Maxxis will be making its mark in a fantastic programme of activity at this year's Top Gear Live, at Birmingham's NEC from October 25-28, where Clarkson, May and Hammond and Top Gear's tame racing driver, The Stig, will be joined by a host of guest drivers and awe inspiring vehicles in the Live Action Arena and Track.

Maxxis will be raising its profile with a stand in the automotive exhibition designed to highlight its strength in depth in car and motorcycle tyres, and the Maxxis Babes will be on hand to mingle with fans and pose for photos.

In addition, Maxxis will be well-represented by Team Japspeed, the drift outfit it sponsors in the Maxxis British Drift Championship – the UK’s premier drift series, for which it is also title sponsor and official partner.  After winning the European Drift Championship in 2007, Team Japspeed went on to the win the British Drift Championship driver’s title in 2009 and the team event competition and constructor’s honours in 2011 and has clocked up no less than 39 podium finishes in competitions both at home and abroad during the past five years.

Basking in its success after clinching the Super Pro class driver’s championship once more and retaining the constructors’ title this season, Team Japspeed will be showcasing its engineering know-how and its drivers’ silky skills – as well as the superior grip and longevity of the all-conquering Maxxis MAZ1 Drift tyre – in a competition that is sure to get the crowd on its feet.

Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni in the Maxxis-sponsored Subaru Impreza, fitted with a 2.5 Toyota 1JZ engine producing 470bhp, will face team mate Shane Lynch in the Monster Energy-liveried Nissan Silvia V8 S15 in a show that will be staged every day and is sure to be one of the highlights of the Live Action Arena and Track.

Visitors to this year’s Top Gear Live will also get to see a mock-up of the studio, challenge cars from the show and an awesome line up of the world’s most amazing, elegant and not to mention expensive cars.
