Maxxis Goes For Gold with Sponsorship of Pure BMX

As part of an ambitious growth strategy to extend its bicycle tyre offering into core market segments, Maxxis Tyres has signed a long term sponsorship deal with Pure BMX. The well-established and world renowned team, comprising 2016 Olympic hopeful Kyle Evans, will begin putting the BMX range of Maxxis tyres to the test during the first heat of the British National Championships in March.

The sponsorship agreement will offer riders access to the full range of Maxxis BMX tyres, including the superlight DTH, which was designed especially for the 2008 Beijing Olympics to offer acceleration capabilities like no other tyre on the market. With a total of 9 tyres in the Maxxis BMX range offering riders comfort and performance on every terrain from dirt to street, park to flat, the Pure Racing team represents the perfect platform to showcase the Maxxis brand and demonstrate its tyres’ capabilities to a captive audience of riders and enthusiasts.

Commenting on the sponsorship announcement, Richard Townsend, owner of Pure Racing, said: “We are delighted to be working with Maxxis throughout 2016. As one of the Worlds most renowned teams, we are constantly looking for the very best components on the market to ensure that we provide our riders with the performance they deserve. Maxxis’ range of BMX tyres have the qualities to offer our riders exactly this. Maxxis is not only a world leading cycle manufacturer, it offers a range of tyres that are in high demand from other BMX teams and riders, and we are thrilled to have them on our bikes.”

The Pure riders will compete as a team at several events throughout the 2016 season, including the British National Championships, The U.E.C. European Championships and the U.C.I. SX Series. The riders will also compete on an individual basis throughout the year.

Explaining the significance of the deal, bicycle brand manager at Maxxis, Stephen Robinson, said it was “awesome to be involved with such an inspiring team and to be in a position to support the fantastic work of Pure.” Stephen continued: “We’re excited to be announcing the sponsorship deal with Pure BMX. The racing team comprises some of the rawest talent out there, they live and breathe the sport and are exhilarating to watch. The values embodied by Pure are perfectly aligned with Maxxis – both brands strive for excellence and refuse to settle for anything less. We’re confident our tyres will live up to their reputation and give Pure riders that extra bit of oomph to carry them through to a successful finish.

“I can’t wait to see how the season pans out. We’re especially excited to be working with Kyle Evans and are chomping at the bit to cheer him on during the Olympic Games in Rio later this year.”

The Pure UK riders who will benefit from the sponsorship include: Jared Hill, Luke Medes, Tian Isidore, Josh Butson, Quillan Isidore, Neil Stewart and Alan Hill. European riders who will also ride on Maxxis tyres and be dressed in the newly designed Maxxis-branded kit include:  Wannes Magdelijns, Sam Van Oss, Yenta Nijs, Mathijs Verhoeven, Chris Christensen and Simone Christensen. Pure’s ambassador will be 2016 Olympic hopeful, Kyle Evans.
