Maxxis expands 4x4 sponsorship portfolio

Expanding its ever-growing sponsorship partnerships, top ten global tyre manufacturer Maxxis is pleased to announce that it has recently added a new 4x4 team to its cohort. The team is made up of Jerry Hunt, who has recently joined Dan Elias to compete as Wrex Racing team.

Utilising the drivers’ respective fortes, Wrex Racing will be racing in both unlimited and legend class races, with a vision to dominate across the board. Channelling the vigour that has thus far helped him to gain incredible success, Jerry will be representing Wrex Racing in the unlimited class, and will be riding on 40” sticky compound trepadors. Having won the Ultra4 Series Legend championship last year – a feat he hopes to retain this year – Dan will be taking on the legends class; competing on 37” standard compound trepadors. With expectations already mounting for the team, Jerry and Dan will be working exceptionally hard –  pushing both themselves and each other – to achieve more titles, trophies and podium standings as a partnership.

Commenting on this new addition, Maxxis’ managing director, Derek McMartin, said: “We are really excited about the new Wrex Racing collaboration. We have seen all that Jerry and Dan have achieved as individual drivers, and can’t wait to see all that they achieve together. We are extremely proud to have the duo acting as ambassadors for the Maxxis brand, and trust that they will represent us well.

“Throughout the year, the pair will be attending shows and exhibitions up and down the country where they will have the chance to really show off our Trepadors. We hope this will help to gather even more enthusiasm for Maxxis.”

In light of this deal, the team will be receiving new Maxxis branded livery, which is expected to be unveiled at the first round of All Wheel Drive Club’s event, Driven to the Edge. The event, set to take place in Neath from 8 – 9 April, will see 4×4 racers assemble for an endurance-led combat; taking on cross country tracks and special winch challenges.
