Tyre giant, Maxxis, is pleased to announce that it is now the title sponsor of the prestigious MSA English Rally Championship.

Since its inception in 2006, the English Rally Championship has seen some of the most exciting competition in the UK. The soon to be named, Maxxis MSA English Rally Championship is exclusively for two-wheel drive rally cars up to 2,000cc and is an ideal rally championship for crews on a limited budget. With a class-based scoring system, competitors from any of the five performance classes are eligible to become English Rally Champions.

Attracting in excess of 200 competitors, and thousands of spectators, over the course of 2015, the English Rally Championship represents the perfect platform for the tyre firm to increase awareness of its range of high quality products on offer, including the acclaimed Victra R19 rally tyre.

Howard Wilcock the MSA English Rally Championship Co-ordinator said “We are delighted to have received support from such a prestigious company as Maxxis and we hope this will be the beginning of a very successful partnership”. 

The first round of the 2016 Maxxis MSA English Rally Championship, named after local rally legend Malcolm Wilson, will take place in the Lake District forests on Saturday 14th March and will be the first opportunity for new sponsor Maxxis to showcase the Victra R19 tyre to a captive audience. Derek McMartin, managing director of Maxxis UK, explains: “We’re incredibly excited to be expanding our sponsorship activity in the car market and entering into the rally segment for the first time. Our rally tyres boast some solid credentials and are already gaining traction with rally enthusiasts at all levels.
