Chris Opie cycles to victory on Maxxis Tyres

Bike Channel Canyon’s Chris Opie chose Maxxis Padrone tyres to help him secure first place in the men’s race, in this year’s first round of the Tour Series in Redditch.

The champion punched the air as he beat nine others to the finish line on Tuesday 9th May with a time of 1:11.197.

The Bike Channel Canyon team were all sporting Maxxis tyres from start to finish and overall finished the event in second place. Almost grasping the top spot, they were close behind in several races including the team time trial and the men’s team race. The cyclists completed the first round with an impressive 18 points, only two points behind leaders JLT-Condor, ready to take the second round head on.

The Bike Channel Canyon cycling team first came on the scene earlier this year, at the London Bike Show, but with talented members like Chris Opie, who was named the overall winner of the 2016 Ronde van Midden-Nederland, it’s no wonder the team is already making its mark. The fifteen-strong squad consists of young, all-British cyclists who are competing at UCI Continental level.

The Maxxis Padrone road tyre, selected by the team in the 700x28c size, is the lightest road tubeless tyre sold by Maxxis. The race ready Padrone features a 170 TPI casing with a carbon fibre bead and SilkShield technology, which protects the tyre from bead to bead. The tyres are available to order here.
