Maxxis Tyre Labelling Activation is Finger Clicking Good

Maxxis has underlined the significance of industry-defining tyre labelling law by activating the legislation in a consumer-friendly manner – four months ahead of its grand unveiling.

The leading tyre manufacturer has stolen a march on competitors by activating European Union demands on the way each tyre’s performance is communicated ahead of the November 1 launch date.

Through two pieces of specially created software, Maxxis is already in a position to clearly communicate the wet braking, noise levels and rolling resistance of each and every tyre it produces to both retailers and distributors.

Firstly, the brand has created its ‘label finder system’, which uses an application programming interface (API) to allow customers to plug Maxxis tyre labeling data into their websites which can then be printed off as labels as required.

The technology is already being heralded as a major breakthrough in the implementation of the law and is expected to be an effective, simple way of understanding the performance of every Maxxis product.

In addition to this, a Maxxis labelling widget has also been devised which will allow customers to enquire about the labeling details from the company’s database. The widget is then easily embedded using an i-frame into any website when required.

Maxxis’ managing director Derek McMartin said that the technology underlined the significance and priority the brand placed on the legislation.

He was also upbeat about Maxxis’ own tyre labelling ratings, with early results in the wet grip performance category revealing many B scores.

This, he believes, is the most critical component of the European Law for Maxxis to score positively in.

He said: “EU tyre labelling law is of huge importance to the industry, not just from a manufacturer’s point of view, but also a retailer one.

“It allows them to clearly communicate the virtues of each tyre to motorists for the first time, which is why we were so keen to create some technology to seamlessly facilitate the process.

“As a company, we are pleased with our results to date and delighted to be able to communicate them clearly and concisely in good time for the law’s implementation on November 1.”
