Maxxis Moves Forward with Plans for Plant in India

Maxxis’ latest expansion project recently took another step forward following a visit by company Chairman Tsai-Jen Lo to the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Gujarat, finalising plans for Maxxis’ first plant in India.

The latest plant will join ten other Maxxis plants located throughout Asia and is due to be ready for operation in early 2017, with Maxxis, also known as Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co. in much of the world, expected to spend around USD400 million on the project.

The plant will initially manufacture motorcycle tyres and tubes for companies including Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki, and is projected to produce around 20,000 units per day at capacity. Occupying 106 acres, the facility will be located in the Sanand Industrial Estate near Ahmedabad and will eventually employ close to 2,000 people.

Maxxis looks forward to the completion of this project, and thanks Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and everyone involved for their efforts in bringing the company’s new factory to Gujarat.
