Premitra All-Season AP3 Tyre Test Results

Auto Bild tyre test logoAuto Bild All-Season Tyre Pre-Test 2019
In 2019, German magazine Auto Bild conducted an all-season tyre test. Before they could undertake the intricate test, they had to shortlist the best tyres to test using a wet and dry braking test. The Maxxis Premitra All-Season AP3 achieved the shortest dry braking distance and was in the top half of wet braking results, resulting in an impressive 4th place finish for the Maxxis tyre.

In the full tyre test, the Premitra All-Season AP3 defended its title as winner of the dry braking test, also winning the straight-line aquaplaning test and showing impressive performance in snow handling and noise, resulting in the AP3 finishing the overall test in 7th place.

    Premitra All-Season AP3 Tyre Reviews

Sometimes the best tyre reviews come from drivers just like you.

    SEAT driver, TyreReviews.co.uk, December 2020:
“Excellent ride comfort over previous model. Great value and good warranty.”

    Premitra All-Season AP3 user, September 2020:
“Had them fitted on Saturday and definitely an improvement over previous model, more comfortable ride for a start. Recommend my ex pupil to fit them after Land Rover wanted £600 for two tyres! Excellent value for half the price!”

    Audi A6 driver, TyreReviews.co.uk, November 2019:
“I had these fitted in preparation for winter on the front replacing a mix of premium, but worn tyres. To be honest it has been really hard to notice the difference, maybe slightly stiffer and harder ride and slightly increased noise. Little feedback in steering, but again to be honest it wasn’t particularly there to begin with, all this is more to do with the car than the tyres. As for the tyres I’ve no complaints, in fact for the price nothing but praise: They brake wet or dry in a totally predictable manner never breaking away or causing the steering to twitch as I have known in the past under heavy braking. Brilliant in the wet as in the dry for grip, my car is simple unable to overwhelm them remaining predictable and stable giving me total confidence, occasionally the ESP will chip in without a hint of letting go. They cope with a muddy field on an incline perfectly well. They do everything I ask of them without any drama though real icy conditions and snow have yet to arrive I see no reason to think that they won’t be brilliant there as well. Perfectly suited to the car, they lack the feedback and precision more focussed summer tyres might be expected to give, (but to be honest to make use of that I’d need much more power and stiffer suspension) but as all season tyres they are brilliant and I wouldn’t be without them.”
