Daily Snob
An informal blog site, Daily Snob tested the Campione and was very impressed:
Gilbert, Daily Snob, October 2016:
“The wider 25mm tyre with butyl rubber negates the advantages latex inners found in the narrower tubes. Pedalling straight down flat roads the tyres picked up speed quickly and hummed along nicely. Cornering in tight crit courses and descending was phenomenal. The wider size allowed for lower tyre pressure set at 92 psi rear and 89 psi front which translates into nice and smooth rolling all day. I weigh 64kg. The wider size also makes it easier for me to keep my line straight when riding in strong gusty winds. The new Maxxis Campione TT tubulars have been rolling nice and easy with no issues and minimal signs of wear since February. It might be too early to call, but I’d say these are more durable than the Corsa CX tyres. I’ve never been one to baby bikes or parts as I like to race and commute on the same gear. With that said I fell confident commuting, doing longer rides, and racing with my new Maxxis tyres.”
Triple Compound road technology utilises three distinct silica compounds in different locations within the tread of the tyre. The centre compound is optimised for exceptional tread-wear and low rolling resistance. The progressively softer shoulder compounds provide increased grip while cornering. Choose a Triple Compound Maxxis road tyre for the ultimate in tyre handling in all conditions.
Available in select tyres, this Maxxis exclusive fabric provides more puncture protection. The addition of this lightweight and supple material ensures that the ride quality and performance remains unsurpassed.
