Rider, Bike24.com, September 2018:
“Bought a pair of 700 x 35 Overdrives several years ago to replace a pair of stock Kendas that came with my Raleigh Misceo 1.0 and wore out after just 3,000km. My inexperience really shone, because I was stunned by how much better the Excels rolled. My average speed was 2km/h faster, and the tread did not seem to wear quickly. I’ve done about 5,000km on mine, mostly done on sealed roads, and the tread looks about only half worn… I’ve used the Overdrives on my Raleigh hybrid, and my GT Transeo 2.0 hybrid. Only had one puncture.”
Rider, ChainReactionCycles.com, August 2015:
“I purchased one of these Maxxis Overdrive for the rear of my Merida Crossway trainer and at $35.00 was I surprised although it did look to be a quality tyre and with the extra layer of protection under the tread durely nothing is going to get through with that and the slime. Straight after fitting the tyre I did a 112km highway trip and was impressed by the handling and cornering ability.”
Rider, ChainReactionCycles, August 2019:
“Nice looking tyre, excellent rolling resistance and a good hybrid tyre pattern, but I picked up a puncture within a week; the tyre is very grippy, almost soft, this could be just bad luck which is why I have it only 4 stars. Other than this annoyance I am happy with the tyre, not really a light tyre but not bad at 700g and would be a good hybrid for urban use.”
