Tommy Searle of the Maxxis supported Steve Dixon Monster Energy Kawasaki Team has won the ACU Maxxis British Championship. Searle had an eight point advantage and needed just two second places in the Round 8 races to secure the title, getting both in dramatic style before taking to the top step of the championship podium.

The sun was out for one of the more local and hilly rounds of the ACU Maxxis British Championship, situated at the Foxhill circuit just an hour away from Searle’s team’s workshop in Hampshire.

Searle soon gelled with the track to secure a top 3 qualifying place, putting him in a great position for the races.

The final race of the season was not made easy for him though, as Tanel Leok was hot on his tail for the whole race. The team provided information throughout the race to let Searle know how Leok was doing, and he subsequently took the chequered flag and points to ensure the ultimate success. The taste of victory was certainly sweet, as Tommy says:

“I knew what I needed to do, two seconds is what I had to get and that’s what I got. Steve’s helped me throughout the year and it’s good to be able to repay the favour to Steve, Kawasaki and Maxxis. I’m really happy to have come away with the Championship, I’ve finished 2nd in the World 3 times in MX2 plus 2nd in the MX2 British, this is the first full season I have raced the British Championship since 2007 so it’s great to have got the job done today.

“It’s been a tough championship battling with Shaun and Jake. I feel I have benefited from racing the series and learned a lot with the bike, so hats off to the team and sponsors who all played an equal role in enabling me to win.”

With both the World Championship and British Championship wrapped up, the team will finish the season with the “Olympics of Motocross” at the Motocross of Nations, in Maggiora next weekend where Tommy Searle will ride for team Great Britiain, and Vseva Brylyakov will return from injury to compete for Team Russia.

The duo will also compete for the Kawasaki Brand at the Manafacturers “Supermotocross” event in Germany on the 8th October.

The team would like to thank all the sponsors who have made winning another British Championship possible.

Tommy Searle is also the subject of ‘The Holeshot’ – a Maxxis film, so anyone interested in seeing the reighing ACU Maxxis British Champion in action should head over to www.youtube.com/user/MaxxisUK now!
