Maxxis increases support for Kawasaki Team Green

Expanding on Maxxis long-term support of the famous Team Green concept, the 2015 season will see the Kawasaki squad increase to 4 youth riders in the coming season.

Having confirmed that the big wheel partnership of Jed Etchells and recent Monster Cup competitor Dylan Woodcock will stay in place, attentions have been turned to the remaining youth categories.

With a groundswell of support for his future potential, the team are glad to welcome Joel Rizzi who is concentrating on the 85cc small wheel class for 2015. Already with national level wins under his belt, the 11 year old from Rithin in North Wales is surely a name to watch in the months and years ahead.

Sharing small wheel duties with Rizzi will be the familiar face of Lewis Hall making the new Team Green squad a duo of rider partnerships competing in the UK Arenacross Championship, plus the British Youth Nationals and other yet to be confirmed events.

And with the current rosta of valued sponsors staying loyal to the team, tyre partner Maxxis have increased their support for 2015 working even closer in terms of brand exposure and also tyre development.

The global tyre manufacturing giant has played a crucial role in the expansion of plans for the coming season. Together with the Team Green squad, Maxxis is expecting to make further major announcements in the near future regarding UK off-road sport.

For Ross Burridge, Kawasaki racing coordinator for the UK, these are exciting times:

”Firstly, I would like to welcome Joel to Team Green, he is a fantastic rider, and I can’t wait to see how he adapts to the big stage on-board his KX85. We are moving forward next year with an even bigger emphasis on youth racing including Team Green development and trying to encourage the motocross community to be more integrated with the project.

I am pleased and excited that our sponsor partner, Maxxis tyres, are keen to be involved at an even deeper level as we stride forward. It’s a fact that they are as committed as us to encourage more young people in the UK to get into the world of off-road sport and Motocross”.

Derek McMartin, MD of Maxxis UK commented:

“We are extremely proud of our longstanding association with Kawasaki Team Green, for over 10 years we have helped young riders take their talent to the next level, hone their skills and build successful careers in motorcycle sport”.
