Maxxis Announce Sponsorship Deal with Ultra4 Europe

Maxxis International has announced that it will be the title sponsor for the 2014 Ultra4 Europe series.

The leading tyre maker has moved to establish the partnership and build on the success it has enjoyed at the King of the Valleys 4×4 contests in Wales and the King of Portugal events over the past two years, as well as strengthen the strong following that both the individual events and the recently formed Ultra4 Europe already have.

Ultra4 Europe works in conjunction with some of the UK and Europe’s top off-road associations, and throughout 2014 it will stage a series of extreme 4×4 endurance events designed to push competitors and their vehicles to their limits. Teams from across Europe that took part in last year’s King of the Valleys and the King of Portugal contests will get the chance to compete in two additional events, the King of the Glens in Scotland and the King of the Mountains in Italy, earning points at each event to determine the winners.

The deal follows the success of its M8060 Trepador tyre at last year’s King of the Valleys contest in Wales, as managing director Derek McMartin confirms: “The King of the Valleys event gave us a great platform to showcase the outstanding off-road capabilities of our 4×4 tyres, and it is a great privilege to have been given the opportunity to be the title sponsor of the inaugural Ultra4 Europe series. We expect this series to take off in a big way, and it has already gained a positive response from fans across the continent.  Our involvement will not only be a good boost for the sport, but will also give four by four lovers more chances to see the performance capabilities of Maxxis tyres throughout 2014.”

The announcement of Maxxis involvement in Ultra4 Europe adds to the manufacturer’s already impressive roster of motorsport commitments, which involve on- and off-track racing on both two and four wheels.
