Maxxis Sponsored rider runner up in Supercross Series Under: Maxxis Sport on 03 March 2011

The Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki team, sponsored by tyre manufacturer Maxxis International, put in another strong performance as rider Ashley Greedy finished runner up in the British Supercross indoor series.

With two championship titles well within his grasp everything hinged on Greedy's performance in the final round at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.  Both Ashley and team mate Adam Chatfield settled quickly into the short and technical circuit and won their heat races to make it through to the final.

In the British Open final Stephen Sword surged into the lead while Adam Chatfield, battling with a dislocated shoulder, steadily moved up the field to take second spot.  Ultimately, however, the results didn't go Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki's way, as Tom Church was crowned champion and Ashley Greedy finished as runner up.

Ashley was also runner up in the SX2 championship after Jack Brunell seized the early lead and held on to win the race and clinch the title.  Adam and Ashley then went on to battle for second, with Ashley eventually winning out over his team mate.

The pair did not fare so well in the SX1 final either, as Chatfield slipped while running in fourth and had to remount, although he still completed the race, while Greedy came home in sixth.

Team manager Steve James said: "The track was soft and sapped the power on the KX250Fs, which gave the 450 boys the advantage off the start and over the triple, and despite his best efforts Ashley struggled to get to grips with the conditions.

"Our performance was not quite of the level we managed in Belfast and London but that's how it goes.  We've had podiums at all three rounds and won a couple of finals and on reflection, with two seconds, a third, a fourth place and a sixth place in the championship standings, I am very pleased with what we achieved."
