Fans turned out in force for Japfest (Saturday, May 14), setting
another record for attendance, which not only cemented the event's
reputation as Europe's biggest Japanese car show, but also ensured
it was a huge success for tyre manufacturer Maxxis.
Japfest is the first performance car show of the season and as
an Official Partner, Maxxis used it to promote its range to
enthusiastic buyers of performance, tuning and styling products and
increase brand awareness within the Japanese car scene.
The Maxxis-sponsored Team Japspeed trio of Steve Biagioni, Shane
Lynch and Paul Smith - who all use the Maxxis MA-Z1Drift tyre -
were on hand to showcase their skills in the Extreme Drift Battle,
which was once again one of the highlights of the show. This
year the drift competition was organised by the Maxxis British
Drift Championship and it more than lived up to expectations, as
the who's who of the drift world ramped up the excitement during
four fiercely contested battles.
The Team Japspeed drivers signed autographs on the Maxxis stand,
which occupied a prime position within the official Retail Village,
and the Maxxis Babes helped give out driver posters and
stickers.
"Visitors to performance car shows are recognising Maxxis as a
brand and want to be associated with us," says Maxxis International
UK's managing director Derek McMartin.
"People are not just asking about our tyres any more, they want
to buy them, and shows like Japfest provide us with an excellent
platform to promote our range and demonstrate to tyre retailers how
we are supporting them, so that they can be confident in building
Maxxis sales."
