Maxxis Builds New Factories to Meet Growing Demand
Under: Maxxis News on

Demand for its products is so strong that tyre manufacturer
Maxxis International, which currently produces more than a million
tyres and tubes a day, is to expand its manufacturing
capabilities. The company is to build two new factories to
meet both its OE requirements and the needs of export and domestic
markets.
The new plants will be in China - one in Chong Qing, west China,
and one in Xiamen on China's south east coast, where Maxxis already
operates two successful factories - and Maxxis expects phase
one of both factories to be finished in 2011.
Once completed each new build production facility is scheduled
to manufacture 30,000 car tyres a day in support of domestic and
export markets. In terms of design and specification, both
plants will be a blueprint of the Maxxis International (Thailand)
Co. Ltd factory in Thailand's Rayong Province, which has been
hugely successful since it came on stream in 2004.
Established in 1967, Maxxis International has made its name in
automotive, light truck, motorcycle, ATV, bicycle, turf and
industrial tyres and distributes its extensive range in
approximately 170 countries. It is a measure of the strength
of the brand that in the 10 years to 2007 revenue more than
quadrupled, while the company posted a turnover of $2.7bn USD for
the year ending 31 December 2009.
Now one of the world's top ten tyre manufacturers, Maxxis
International operates factories in Taiwan, China, Thailand and
Vietnam along with research and development centres in Taiwan,
China, the USA and the Netherlands.
