Further praise for the Premitra HP5

In the last On Track newsletter, it was announced that the Premitra HP5 was awarded ‘recommended’ status by Professional Driver Magazine. Since then, the tyre has been put through more extreme, independent testing; this time by Auto Bild.

The test was carried out in a bid to weed out and identify the best summer tyre, and so 52 candidates – including tyres from Pirelli, Dunlop and Michelin – were pitted against each other in an evaluation of a range of disciplines including aquaplaning, rolling resistance, mileage, and noise. Of the 52 brands put forward for review, 20 were shortlisted. Maxxis’ Premitra HP5 faced stiff competition with Euro Premium brands, but was placed 14 th, demonstrating, yet again, its position as a value-based alternative that doesn’t disappoint when it comes to performance.

Commenting on this award, Maxxis’ managing director, Derek McMartin, said: “We’re extremely pleased that the Premitra HP5 is being recognised as the great tyre that it is. The tyre was first introduced to fill a gap in the market for a high-performance tyre that could tick all the right boxes without costing the earth. To be recognised for this, on the back of stringent testing against other popular brands, is fantastic.”
