In addition to showcasing its range of passenger car and
motorcycle tyres at this year's AutoSport International show (13-16
January 2011; Hall 20, Stand 2250), tyre manufacturer Maxxis
International is launching new product, highlighting its sports
sponsorship and unveiling its new corporate website, the innovative
'2 in 1' Maxxis 2011 calendar and a new mobile phone app. The
Maxxis Babes will also be on hand to meet fans, pose for
photographs and give away Maxxis merchandise.
Maxxis product showcase
Maxxis is using a display of vehicles to show off its range,
including a Caterham 7 which will be fitted with the new Maxxis ZR9
tyre. The ZR9 is an ultra high performance radial
specifically designed for asphalt track racing and makes its UK
debut at AutoSport International.
The tyre features a directional tread pattern design with low void
ratio for excellent handling plus large shoulder blocks for
cornering and lateral stability, while the centre V-shaped grooves
disperse water efficiently for excellent wet traction. The
well-balanced tread, sidewall, bead design plus an advanced racing
compound meet all the handling and traction requirements for
racing, ensuring the Maxxis ZR9 gives competitive racers the
edge.
Available in almost 50 sizes up to 285/30 ZR20, the popular,
top-selling Maxxis MA-Z1 high performance tyre is shown to best
advantage on both a Ferrari Scuderia 430 and a KTM XPO, while the
highlight of the Maxxis stand for two-wheel performance enthusiasts
is the Supermaxx Sport tyre, which is fitted to a road-going
version of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Superbike. The race
specification machine was used last season by the Maxxis-sponsored
official Kawasaki UK British Superbike team, MSS Colchester
Kawasaki.
The choice of motocross tyre depends on the surface and as an
off-road motorcycle tyre specialist Maxxis is promoting its full
range with both a product display and a motocross bike, as used by
the Maxxis Henderson Insurance LPE Kawasaki team during the 2010
Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship. The championship
is one of the strongest motocross series anywhere in the world and
Maxxis has been title sponsor since 2002. New Maxxis website
Maxxis has chosen AutoSport International to officially launch to
the general public its new corporate website, which offers easier
access to a wealth of product and company information.
Thanks to the new design, which incorporates more images and
video, an all-new content management system and enhanced
navigation, it will be easier for visitors to Maxxis.co.uk to find
out what they want to know, quickly and easily.
Innovative work on the way the site accepts information feeds will
ensure that updates fed into the central database will upload
instantly to the website. As a result, visitors will be able
to access the latest tyre data, retailer contacts and details on
Maxxis-sponsored teams and drivers, follow the schedule of
performance shows/events and keep track of where the Maxxis Babes
will be heading next.
Maxxis mobile phone app
The new Maxxis app has been developed for Apple, Android and
Blackberry devices and will enable users to research which Maxxis
tyre is right for their car and locate their nearest Maxxis
retailer. Fans will also be able to get the latest news about
the Maxxis Babes, Maxxis-sponsored sports events, teams and drivers
and its calendar of performance/tuning shows on their phones.
Users of the app can access driver/rider and team profiles and
sign up to receive alerts about forthcoming events plus updates on
the Babes' activities during the motorsport/performance show
season.
Maxxis 2011 calendar
The new Maxxis calendar adopts an innovative '2 in 1' format,
comprising a corporate calendar that showcases Maxxis and its
sports sponsorship and a Maxxis Babes calendar, and is being
officially unveiled to the general public at AutoSport
International.
The Maxxis Sporting Year 2011 features a montage of action shots
which reinforce Maxxis International's worldwide sports
credentials, underlining how it partners with international events,
teams and individuals at the very top of their sport, while the
Maxxis Babes calendar for 2011 depicts the girls in a series of
burlesque pin up poses.
In response to popular demand, Maxxis plans to offer a selection
of pages from both calendars as free desktop wallpaper
downloads.
Drift team opens Live Action Arena
Over the past couple of years Maxxis has been enhancing its
credentials as the manufacturer of a top performing all-weather
drift tyre - the MA-Z1 Drift - and will be promoting its links with
the high octane sport of drifting at AutoSport International.
In 2011 Maxxis will be returning for a second season as title
sponsor of the British Drift Championship as well as supporting
teams and drivers. As well as renewing its successful
association with Team Japspeed, Maxxis is sponsoring former
European Drift Champion
Mark Luney, who is driving for the SATS Cosworth team in this
year's British championship.
Mark, along with Team Japspeed drivers Steve Biagioni and Shane
Lynch, will be on the Maxxis stand, chatting with fans about their
ambitions for the coming season and signing autographs. The
Team Japspeed drivers will also be putting on an impressive display
of their drifting skills to officially open AutoSport
International's Live Action Arena.
Visitors to the Maxxis stand will be able to get a real feel for
the sport by watching short films of the 2010 Maxxis British Drift
Championship and enter a prize draw to win a VIP trip for two to
the Silverstone round of the 2011 series. The winners will
enjoy a passenger drift ride and an exclusive 'behind the scenes
experience' courtesy of Team Japspeed.
