Babes Calendar 2016

The Maxxis Babes have once again pulled out all of the stops to help raise funds for Macmillan. The tyre maker’s promotional team attended the Autosport International show at the NEC earlier this month, with all £2,275 generated from sales of their calendars going directly to the charity dedicated to help anyone affected by cancer.

The grand total raised by the girls represents the approximate cost of a Macmillan cancer support worker for a month. This means the Maxxis Babes will have helped Macmillan deliver critical services for people diagnosed with cancer, as well as their friends and families. The annual effort is greatly appreciated by the charity, as fundraising manager Helen Glenholmes confirms:

“Every year the event team at Maxxis work really hard on our behalf, and all of the money they raise goes to support our effort to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone. Our support workers are essential to the role we play in the community, improving the lives of those directly and indirectly affected by the terrible disease. It’s fantastic to have one of our team funded for a whole month through sales of Maxxis calendars, and the money will certainly help families and loved ones cope with the consequences of cancer.”

As well as funds for Macmillan, the Autosport initiative does much to raise the feel good factor for the Maxxis Babes themselves, as Laura McBride states: “Being a Maxxis Babe we get to go to lots of exciting motorsport and cycle racing events, but the Autosport show is always one of the year’s highlights. Not only do we have all of the Maxxis teams, drivers, vehicles and tyres on show, but we get to help a fantastic cause like Macmillan by meeting fans, signing and selling our calendars. It’s hugely rewarding to know we’ve helped fund a support worker for a month, and we’re determined to raise even more next year.”
