New M36 joins Maxxis high performance range

Demand for its high performance tyres and technical advances in this niche marketplace have led to Maxxis expanding its range with the addition of the new M36.

An innovative tread compound and design – which features four primary wide grooves to disperse water quickly and easily – promotes outstanding wet and dry traction, while a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap gives added strength and stability. The M36 also delivers a quiet and smooth ride thanks to a continuous outside reinforced shoulder block design, which enhances cornering stability and reduces noise, and a multi-pitch design and variation arrangement. Superb high-speed straight line stability comes from the centre-rib with incision and the large angle tapped groove wall design prevents block deflection during driving to improve grip in all conditions.

The M36 recently demonstrated its capabilities when samples were supplied to Auto Express for annual tyre test – held this year at Continental’s Uvalde proving ground in Texas – and the Maxxis product out-scored several premium brands in the dry handling, dry braking and cabin noise tests.

The new Maxxis M36 is currently available in a range of sizes from 195/65R15 to 215/50ZR17 with further sizes due to be added to the UK line up in spring 2010 and, like all Maxxis high performance tyres, it is available exclusively from Grouptyre, the UK’s leading independent wholesaler.

MA-Z1 and MA-Z1 Drift
The Maxxis high performance range also includes the increasingly popular MA-Z1, which features an aggressive unidirectional tread design, stiff sidewall and advanced silica compound for excellent cornering and handling stability and superior traction in wet and dry conditions.

Double-steel belts and a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap ensure durability, while an ultra-stiff bead filler and solid central rib deliver excellent manoeuvrability. The Maxxis MA-Z1 is available in almost 50 sizes up to 285/30 ZR20.

The MA-Z1 Drift tyre is based on the road-going MA-Z1 but incorporates a specially developed high temperature silicone rubber compound for long life and the all-important smoke required to score extra points in the high octane sport of professional drifting. It has proved it has world class credentials after Maxxis-sponsored drivers using the MA-Z1 Drift scooped the British Drift Championship, the Prodrift Super Series, the Need for Speed European Drift Championship and Formula Drift, the top US drift series, this season.

MA-Z4S
This is an all-season, unidirectional ultra-high performance radial that takes grip, fuel economy and handling to a new level. Featuring a low aspect ratio, V-shaped aggressive tread design and specially formulated silica tread compound, it is available in sizes from 195/50 R15 to 255/35 ZR20.

A solid centre rib plus reinforced casing and robust body ply structure ensure improved handling and stability, while a hard bead filler compound aids cornering. Four high-void, circumferential main grooves expel water for enhanced traction on wet roads, while multiple grooves and the optimal siping design deliver grip in snowy conditions. The five-pitch tread blocks and groove design also minimise noise for a quiet, comfortable ride.

M35
The M35 is available in a range of popular sizes from 195/50 VR15 upwards and features an asymmetric tread design with three outside ribs for superb handling, stability and cornering response. The inside shoulder’s high void ratio aids water dispersal and the continuous circumferential tread block arrangement and pitch sequence combine to deliver impressive performance and uniform wear along with a smooth, quiet ride.

The M35’s innovative silica tread compound grips the road in all weathers, while a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap provides uniformity and durability and the tyre also benefits from a rim protector.

MA-V1 and MA-P1
With a directional tread pattern which aids cornering and overall handling and a specially formulated compound which delivers outstanding traction, the MA-V1 has established itself as the preferred choice of high performance drivers throughout Europe and North America. It is available in 76 sizes from 14 inch upwards.

The MA-P1 radial is renowned for its precise steering response, superb grip and handling stability and a quiet, comfortable ride at speed. Its revolutionary tread design features four circumferential grooves to enhance traction and disperse water. The MA-P1 comes in almost 100 size options from 175/70 R12 upwards.
